Once in a full moon

Baltimore Orioles' pitcher Kris Benson gives us the bonehead quote of the week.

Benson was asked Tuesday (9/5/2006) for his thoughts about the seven shutouts in Major League Baseball, the most shutouts in one day in the past 30 years. Kris got off to an OK start, but ... Here's what he said:

"It's a freakish day, that's all - especially with all the home runs that are being hit and all the offense in the American League. It's tough to understand why something like that happens. It's just one of those things, like a full moon."

For the sake of planet Earth, I'm sure it's a good thing we have a full moon more than once every 30 years.
